Walter serves as the butler and personal aide of Integra Hellsing, the head of the Hellsing organization. He has served the family for a long time, at least since the height of World War II. In his heyday, Walter was known as “The Angel of Death”, and was one of Hellsing’s best field agents. He spent a good deal of time working with Alucard. These days, he is not as spry as he used to be and prefers a more sedate pace. Walter also employs his old connections to acquire the specialized firearms of the Hellsing organization.
Walter is the very model of a perfect British butler: polite, patient, and endlessly accomodating to his employer’s needs and wishes. There is always a hint of amusement in his tone and actions, especially when dealing with the much younger members of Hellsing. This flippant attitude also expresses itself in combat, where he likes to taunt his foes.
An expertly skilled martial artist, Walter is gifted with superhuman speed and reflexes, enough to dodge machinegun fire at the very least. He uses a unique style which involves employing long lengths of piano wire that he can control with preternatural skill to cut through metal or flesh with equal ease. This is still nothing compared to when he was in his prime, however, when his aim and reflexes were much better than they are now.
